Dear Mike Hall
There are two majot options available in Pakistan i.e. Transfusion and Iron chelation therapy and Bone Marrow Transplant.
There are three Bone Marrow Transplant Centres in Pakistan, two in Karachi and one in Rawalpindi with a total capacity of about 100 BMT in a year. Two centres in Karachi are in Private Sector whereas one in Rawalpindi is in Public sector. This centre is Armed Forces Bone Marrow Transplant Centre and I have the honour of establishing it in 2000. In addition to patients from Armed Forces it also provides treatment to civilian patients on payment.
